Tillandsia schiedeana

Renamed in 1935 in honour of German botanist DR. Wilhelm Schiede, Tillandsia schiedeana was previously known as Tillandsia vestita.

This air plants greyish green leaves can grow to be quite densely packed as the plant becomes established.  Tillandsia schiedeana produces yellow flowers from its orange/red floral bracts.  A mature specimen clump can produce dozens of flowers over a prolonged period.
