Vriesea sucrei

Native to Rio de Janeiro, Vriesea sucrei is endemic to the restingas (tropical and sub-tropical, sandy coastal forests). Grow upto around 12″. Dark green leaves with a vinaceous hue and a rich deep burgundy underside.

For potting, a good orchid compost is the simplest option. For mounting, a generous amount of sphagnum moss wrapped around the base of the plant will encourage rooting.
