A very spiky small bromeliad. Formerly known as Abromeitiella brevifolia ssp. chlorantha and commonly as Argentine ball. Deuterocohnia brevifolia ssp. chlorantha is a mound forming terrestrial bromeliad which grows in tight clusters. Its leaves have toothed margins and very sharp points. Its flowers are small green cylinders produces from the centre of the rosettes. Native to Argentina and Bolivia.
Easy to grow given good light, airflow and free drainage. Will tolerate light frost if kept dry although best treated as a houseplant / greenhouse plant at least over the winter months in the UK.
Supplied as small clusters in 9cm pots.
