Tillandsia latifolia var. vivipara

This viviaparous form of Tillandsia latifolia produces offsets from the inflorescence as well as around the parent plant itself.

A fairly small grower, maturing at around 4″, it has densely trichomed leaves which glisten in bright light. It tends to produce only 1 offset on the inflorescence with 1-4 offsets formed on the parent plant.

Given the viviparous offsetting, when left ‘in tact’ this plant can eventually form an unusual and intricate ‘chain’ of plants.
