Tillandsia capillaris
£7.50
Rarely available for sale, Tillandsia capillaris is one of the few cleistagomous (self pollinating) miniature air plants. Native to the coastal areas of Chile, Tilladsia capillaris grows at varying altitudes from 0-2000m above sea level where its primary source of moisture is coastal fog. In its native habitat, this air plant tends to grow on the spines of large cacti, but lends itself perfectly to mounting on bogwood, seashells of cork. It is also a great clump forming air plant that when hung upside down forms impressive tennis ball sized clumps. Heavily variable species with many different forms.

This little tillandsia is forming a delightful clump and has quite a few tiny yellow flowers at the moment. I really am captivated by these miniature species. Thanks to Craftyplants.
