Tillandsia albertiana
£6.50
One of the very few red flowering air plants, Tillandsia albertiana quickly forms an attractive clump.
This distichous (leaves forming in mirror image like pairs) air plant is endemic to the steep cliff faces of the Salta Province of Argentina. Tillandsia albertiana is a very easy to care for air plant and will tolerate periods of drought. Each plant produces one relatively large flower, which unlike most Tillandsia flowers can last for a week, established clumps can produce flowers in succession over upto three months at a time. Named after the Argentinian botanist Alberto Castellanos.

A neat plant which produces red flowers that stand out against the green leaves. A very attractive plant.

Small and cute, lovely shape. The one I received has branched a little already so hopefully it’ll clump nicely.

My two clumps of Albertiana are beautiful and healthy (as always from here!). One of the smaller varieties, I believe, which is a good thing as Tillandsias are taking over my house! Way too addictive ?
