Furcraea selloa var. marginata
£7.50
Furcraea selloa var. marginata
Variegated false Agave.
An interesting curiosity of a plant. Comparatively tender, so really best suited to growing in pots and moving indoors (frost free greenhouse, conservatory etc) though the winter in almost all of the UK. Worth growing for it’s thick, strappy, Agave like leaves which give a real tropical look to the garden in the summer months. Like Agave, flowering is once in a lifetime for these monocarpic gems, producing a 20 foot tall flower stem! Furcraea are viviparous – producing many bulbil-type offspring on the inflorescence which can all be grown on as new plants.
*Not frost hardy in our experience*
Supplied in 9cm pots.
