Bryophyllum daigremontianum (Mother of Millions)
Also known as:
- Mother of Millions
- Mexican Hat Plant
- Alligator Plant
- Kalanchoe daigremontiana
- Devils Back Bone
A native of Madegascar, this succulent makes one of the simplest houseplants. A truly fascinating plant, Bryophyllum daigremontianum produces baby plants along the edges of the leaves giving rise to the name ‘Mexican Hat Plant’. These baby plants are easily knocked off the leaves and will quickly grow in any pot or soil that they land in.
When in flower, the umbrella shaped flower head produces a succession of orange – yellow flowers over the course of a month or more.
Requiring minimal care, the mother of millions plant can tolerate high temperatures as well as frequent drought (…or occasional neglect).
Grow in a reasonably free draining compost and allow the soil to dry between waterings.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Supplied in a 9cm pot.
