Tillandsia Recurvata, or ball moss as it’s otherwise known is one of the few airplants that grows well in low lighting. A very adaptable airplant, Tillandsia recurvata can be found growing wild throughout South America and the southern states of the USA attached to anything from trees to power lines. An easy to grow airplant, Tillandsia Recurvata produces small violet pink flowers in a pincushion-like formation.
Quite a widespread airplant, this variety has gone by several different names: Renealmia recurvata, Diaphoranthema recurvata, Tillandsia monostachya, Tillandsia uniflora and Diaphoranthema to name a few.This airplant has been subject to many scientific studies in recent years exploring it’s anti-cancer properties.
